OUR MISSION:

Hillary and Doug have been blissfully married since 1992, did the Los Angeles scene for 13 years, and now live on the Central Coast of California. We LOVE food and wine. We LOVE our friends. And somehow, we’ve become the go-to people for our friends and their friends to ask where they should go eat, what they should order, which wines we like, and best of all “want to come along?”

In fact, we’ve met a good number of our friends at restaurants and wine bars. We’ve befriended the proprietors and cooked for them and with them. It’s become so common for us now to post about our wonderful experiences, delicious meals and new wine finds that we’ve been asked so much for our blog address, we thought we’d create this one together. As one friend put it: “If I could just go to your blog, I would have saved so much time and money!”

So consider this our public service. We will sacrifice our livers and stomachs for you, our dear readers. Come back often, share your own thoughts, and join our growing circle of friends. Yes, we live in paradise. Nourished by perfect weather, producing optimal conditions for the “sunlight in a glass” we call wine. Rich soil from extinct volcanoes nurturing ideal conditions for farmers and ranchers – the perfect recipe for fresh, delicious food. This makes for a very happy life for all who live and visit here. In fact, San Luis Obispo was named “The Happiest City in North America” by Dan Buettner of National Geographic. So if you’re happy, or want to be happy, we welcome you for a visit.
